The Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) is based in Crete, Greece established in 2019 from the Technological Educational Institute of Crete, spans 5 schools with a focus on research and education in technology, science, engineering and management. It hosts a vibrant community of over 20.000 students and is noted for its robust research programs.
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, which is involved in the TORNADO project covers the fields of Telecommunications, Energy, Automatic Control, Electronics, and Computers. With a strong emphasis on combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications, the department is dedicated to preparing future engineers to address complex, real-world challenges. In collaboration with the TORNADO Project, the PASIPHAE Group within the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is actively advancing their shared vision and goals.
PASIPHAE Group leader in communication technologies since 2001 with more than 12+ EU-Funded Projects currently active and over 50 Students in PhD, MSc, & Beng and Collaboration with over 100 Companies in Industrial Sector including HP, IBM, GOOGLE, Intracom, Thomson, Philips, Idemia, etc. Since its founding Pasiphae Group has participated in numerous projects funded by the European Union’s Framework Programmes 5, 6, 7, and Horizon 2020, with a focus on information and communication technology (ICT), health, and safety.
