As part of the Tornado project, we are one of three use case partners contributing to WP2. Our role is to provide a real-world application, define system requirements, and test and evaluate the solutions developed by the Tornado consortium. Our focus is on the shipping department – a highly dynamic environment within our company where a variety of traffic, including pedestrians, pallet trucks and forklifts, are constantly moving to transport products. The wide variety of items handled presents a challenge, as existing robots and grippers lack the flexibility to handle these tasks effectively.
By participating in European research projects such as Tornado and SOPHIA, we as an SME are gaining valuable insights into the future of robotics and digitalisation. By using the results of the Tornado project, we can make more informed decisions about our internal automation and digitalisation strategies, both in the short and long term.
